What is Gestalt Therapy like?
We begin by exploring what is going on for you right now and what you seek from the therapy.
Through curiosity and compassion, I will hold a safe space where together we identify patterns and behaviours that may have supported you earlier in your life, but are no longer serving you in the present.
We then acknowledge, process and heal those experiences and parts of ourselves that remain stuck.
This greater self-awareness then opens up possibilities to make conscious choices about how you show up in your life at present, cultivating both satisfying and sustainable change.
We will reflect and review regularly on our progress to ensure desired outcomes are being fulfilled and to attune to anything that needs to shift based on your newfound self-awareness and growth.
As we journey towards the end of our therapeutic relationship, it is encouraged to have one final session dedicated to reflecting on our time together and co-creating a healthy closure between us, a rarity in our culture today.
Is this therapy for me?
My therapeutic service is intended for women who wish to break patterns, better connect and be the change they want to see.
They feel ready to begin to look within themselves and heal the younger parts or traumatised parts that are waiting to be healed.
If this is you, I would love to have a free connection call with you! You will find the booking button below at the end of the FAQs.
*Please note that my service is not intended for life-crises or emergencies; or for people experiencing psychosis, bipolar disorder or plans for suicide.

How long is a therapy session?
Following our initial consultation, individual sessions are 50 minutes in length (and 10 minutes outside of the session for progress notes). This is generally a suitable timeframe for exploring and processing your outside world within the microcosm of the therapeutic space.
How many sessions will I need?
This will vary depending on whether you present with a specific issue or a historical pattern. On the outset we get to know each other and together we will develop a tailored support plan and implement practices for sustainable change. Generally, shifts begin between 8-12 sessions, although results may vary considering individual experiences and histories.
How often should I come to therapy?
Frequency and consistency helps to build and maintain a safe and solid foundation for the work. I recommend 4 initial sessions held weekly after which we can continue to review whether to stay weekly or move to fortnightly or something different depending on your goals and needs.
What are the payment terms?
Initial consultation session is $195 and the ongoing fee is $175 per session.
Payments are made in advance of each session via credit/debit card.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, atleast 24 hours notice is required. Any cancellations within 24-hours will attract a full fee.
Do you offer Medicare Rebate?
As a psychotherapist/counsellor, my services do not fall under the Medicare scheme (only psychologists/psychiatrists and some social workers) and so you do not need a Mental Health Plan to access my offerings.
